The Town of Kerrobert will soon be home to the newest addition to the Prairie Moon Inn & Suites group of hotels. The hotel chain has existing locations in Unity, Macklin and Consort, AB and will be adding a 130 unit modular motel as the first stage of their Kerrobert location. Phase one will also include a convenience store, a Country Style Coffee shop, Mr. Sub Restaurant and as well a pizza and burger outlet. The new development will be located beside the Prairieland Community Centre and Owner-General Manager Amber Sander is anticipating opening as soon as August 1, 2017. Owners Randy Sander, Moon Chung and Hazen Chung expect that the project, once operational, will create 15 new full-time jobs and 8 to 10 part-time positions. Phase two of the project includes a 69 unit hotel – no estimate on when that would be opening as of yet. “We hope to contribute to the growth and expansion of the town as well as offer some much-needed services in the community,” says Randy Sander about the project. “Our goal is to give people incentive to spend the night in Kerrobert rather than travelling to a bigger center for accommodation, restaurants, etc. I really feel it is going to be a good thing for all of the existing businesses in Kerrobert.”
