The Kerrobert Daycare Centre is located in the Mary Rodney Building in Kerrobert, Saskachewan. Our location is such that children that attend Playschool and participate in Dance do not even have to leave the building as both Playschool and Dance are located in the lower level of the Mary Rodney Building. We are also ideally located for children coming to and from school as we are right next door to Kerrobert Composite School and children do not even have to cross a street between the two facilities. We occupy almost the entire upper level of the Mary Rodney Building and have a large entryway that incorporates cubby’s for the children’s personal belongings. We also have 6 play rooms, an office, a kitchen, a dining area and 2 bathrooms. We have our own outdoor play area which we utilize as much as possible weather permitting.
Our staff consists of a Director and group supervisor as well as a Cook, Office Administrator, full-time and casual staff. Our dedicated staff members have personal qualities of friendliness, warmth, and the ability to relate openly to both children and adults. The staff has required training and/or experience which qualifies them to work with young children. All full-time staff has the required certifications set forth by the Child Daycare Branch of Saskatchewan.
The Kerrobert Daycare is a non-profit organization. We are a government funded facility that abides by the rules and regulations set forth by the Government of Saskatchewan Child Daycare Branch. We are regularly audited and visited by Early Childhood and Learning Development consultants. We are run by a Child Daycare Division.
Kerrobert Daycare Centre is licensed for 36 spaces as follows:
- Infant Program Ages 6 weeks – 17 months
- Toddler Program Ages 18 months – 30 months
- Preschool Program Ages 31 months – Kindergarten
- School Age Program Ages 6-12
The Kerrobert Daycare Centre sees itself as an extension of the family in providing care and positive growth for the children of our community. The Centre aims to guide the children through various experiences in the world and help them develop knowledge of “why”. The Centre will provide an atmosphere of equality in all aspects of development and minimize the differences among the children, removing any stereotypes with regards to gender, race or physical disabilities.
The Centre hopes to enable the children to develop positive self-image and social confidence with peers, elders and other family members through play, role-playing and audio-visual aids. However, the Centre also realized that the primary aspect of being a child is to play and to develop one’s imagination without restraint.
Most of all, the Centre would like to provide a place where children can have fun, care safe and feel safe, and where their parents feel comfortable and welcome!
